Annie Leibovitz has been an influential photographer since the 1970’s. She is known for her provocative portraits of celebrities in the magazines Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and The New York Times Magazine. This photograph of Miley Cyrus was taken in February 2008 when the starlet was fifteen. This photo turned into a controversial ordeal because of Miley’s parents not being present while it was happening and the fact she is nude. But there are tons of pictures by Leibovitz just like this in the same style, which is fantastic! I believe that Leibovitz’s style is so great because no other artist does exactly the same thing she does with her photos. Her art is so raw and beautiful and no other artist comes close.
